Pharmacy Studies
Studies last at least 6 years after which you will be a Doctor of Pharmacy after completing your thesis. From the 4th year: students will choose a course. You have the choice between 3 courses:
— pharmacist (urban pharmacist) — 6 years of study
— internship (validated by a national exam in the 5th year) — 9 years of study
— industry — 6 to 7 years of study

There are many opportunities in pharmacy because there is a great diversity of professions! You can work in hospitals, in pharmaceutical distribution, in industry, as a biologist, in pharmacies, or in research. You can also join the military or take on international solidarity missions! The choices are wide!
Today, to work as a hospital practitioner, biologist, or in research, you will essentially need to turn to the internship system. The pharmacy internship exam takes place every year in December of the 5th year. You then become a pharmacy intern for 4 years where you will complete numerous internships in hospitals. You can also become a research professor.
If you choose the industrial sector, you can work in marketing, regulation, production, cosmetology, laboratories, and also with major French or international authorities. At every stage of the drug manufacturing chain, you will find a pharmacist.

You can also choose to work in pharmaceutical distribution jobs with wholesalers. Wholesale pharmacists are at the center of drug distribution. They act as a link between pharmaceutical laboratories and pharmacies. They purchase medications from laboratories, store them, and then deliver them to pharmacies.
Being a pharmacist is also an exciting and evolving profession. Pharmacists are increasingly assigned to patient care (flu vaccination, dispensing by protocol, rapid diagnostic testing for angina, etc.). They play a major role in the patient care pathway, establishing a true relationship of trust between the pharmacist and their patient. They advise and dispense medications, products, and items whose preparation and sale are reserved for pharmacists, and they can also produce pharmaceutical or officinal preparations.
